Verbosify (ver-BOH-se-fi) verb. - To make a passage of text humorously wordy or verbose. Have you ever been writing an essay and wished your mastery of English vocabulary could rival that of Shakespeare himself? Simply write or paste a few sentences into Verbosify and have each word replaced with the longest synonym possible. While the conversion won't always be strung into a perfectly coherent sentence, your expansive vocabulary is sure to amaze your less intelligent friends, while greatly amusing all the others. Once the conversion is finished, you can then continue verbosifying (making the passage longer and longer), post it to your Facebook wall, or even tap on Verbosify's mascot - the mighty Thesaurus Rex - and he will recite it aloud in a robotic Scottish accent using the "Flite" text-to-speech engine. How perfectly marvelous! Try verbosifying your favorite song lyrics, your friends' wall posts, or an essay you've written. Verbosify works using the APIs of two different online thesauruses, words.bighugelabs.com and thesaurus.com, which you can switch between at any time for varied results. You can also choose between 4 different voices for the Thesaurus Rex, tweak various settings to adjust the result of your conversion, and enable ridiculous-but-classy-looking old-timey fonts.
